Christmas Party
REMEMBER!
our christmas party is coming up this tuesday. 6:30 - 8:30, Starlight Lanes Bowling. if you need a ride please contact some one. we'd love to have EVERYONE there. also get the $5 gift to exchange, please make sure it is a male/female gift for the sake of our 3 males that'll be joining us.
hopefully at this meeting we will have officially voted and have our new club name for the upcoming show year. after we have voted, i will collect everyone that has agreed to make the new banners (for fairs and parades) and we will come up with a day & time to meet once every 3 weeks. i'm sure that'll give us enough time to complete the 2 banners.
Thank you, and hope to see everyone on tuesday.

Volunteer Opportunity
I am co-president of Grand Haven High School's chapter of NHS (National Honor Society). Our group requires each of our members to do at least 10 hours of community service each semester. Our Leadership Committee (I am on it) provides the members with opportunities and they can sign up if they wish.
The point of this is that NORP (northwest ottawa recreation program) sponsors and runs the Mom's & Son's Western Night Round-Up. This is being held for boys grades 1-5 on Thursday, November 13th 2007 from 6:15-8:00 pm at White Pines Middle School (Cafeteria). NHS couldn't get anyone else to sign up for it other than myself.
If you are intersted in volunteering for this, my email is yomega_girl2003@hotmail.com . Please contact me. I desperately need help! (my home phone is 842-6287 cell is 510-1880)

Banner/Name Committee
To: Everyone
please remember to still be thinking of any new names that POP into your head before the November meeting. Just post them up here. for the banner committee if you find any cloth scraps laying around, they could come in hand when we make our banners. i'd like to make one for parades, and one easy changeable 4-h fair banner. so far for banner committee there is: Heather, Tess, and Challie, including me. more are welcomed! after we figure out colors and a name, we will all find 1 night a week that works for all to come over to my house to work on the banners.
Thank you,
Nicole

October Meeting Notes
Homemade Club Banner: Nicole is going to head the committee to create a banner for our club with our new name and colors (once these things are voted into place). If you would like to be on the banner committee please let Nicole know at the November meeting or sooner.
Christmas Party: Tanya is going to head the committee for a Christmas party. The Christmas party will be held on our regularly scheduled meeting night in December (the second Tuesday, which is December 11th) unless several members are affected by school scheduling conflicts. If you would like to join the Christmas party committee, meet at Tanya's house on Wednesday, October 17th at 6:00 pm.
Snack Schedule: All members will be expected to provide snacks (both food and beverages) for one meeting a year as well as for special events (i.e. Christmas party possibly and the awards banquet). Nicole will provide snacks for the November meeting, Challie for January, Heather for February, Meredith for March. If you are unable to provide snacks for your scheduled month, please contact another member who is willing to switch with you.
Name and Color Changes: Suggested Colors are as follows: Light Blue/Tan (Sand), Blue/Light Pink, Gray/Any Pastel, Camoflauge/Any Color. There was only one suggestion for name changes (unless I had a cramp in my hand and didn't write anything else down...) and that was Trail Seekers. This blog is a perfect place to post additional name and/or color suggestions. We will vote at the next meeting.
November Meeting: We will meet the second Tuesday of November (November 13th) at Rob. Hall from 6:30-8:00. We will be making a pinecone Christmas ornament.

September Meeting Notes
The September meeting was the first of our fall meetings after a relaxing fun and fair-filled summer. There were several things addressed on the new business agenda. The following are the highlights: Heather made a proposal (seconded by Alison H.) to change our club name from Spirit Seekers to something new. Please be thinking of ideas that you like for names and color changes for the October meeting. Nicole made a proposal to create a homemade banner with our club name (even if we keep Spirit Seekers) to display at fairs, etc. Tanya made a proposal that as a club we reserve the group camping site in the spring (perhaps first weekend in May) at Ionia State Park. The cost is extremely low (0nly $1.50 per person), and the park is close enough to make it accessible by all. This particular park also has options for the non-horse person, swimming, hiking, etc.
Other business from the meeting: Thanks to Don for showing us all how to change a tire! A few of us will be driving north to the Kettenun Center to learn to make a variety of crafts. Leaders may attend two of these trainings a year for free and the cost for members is minimal. If you'd like to go and need a ride please call Carmen.
